Investment

Psychotherapy is a wonderful way to invest in yourself, your relationships, and your future. The effort, time, and finances put into therapy directly influence the outcome of treatment. We understand that paying for therapy out of pocket is a real concern for clients, so we offer to collaborate with you in scheduling your sessions as you feel financially comfortable. This can include adjusting session frequency to better fit your needs. We can also generate a receipt of services that you can submit to your health insurance for reimbursement. Unfortunately, Serendipity Psychotherapy, LLC, is not paneled with medical insurances and does not accept health insurance as a form of payment.

Couples therapy involves a lot of structure, history taking, assessment, and collaboration. Since there are two people in a couple, more happens within each interaction in couples therapy, and it takes more time to get through the process of communication, regulation, and repair in each session. The standard 50-minute therapeutic hour is simply not enough time to be able to reach meaningful change and get back to calmness, especially not at the start of couples therapy. Because of this, couples services at Serendipity Psychotherapy are 90 minutes long. When progress becomes consistent and treatment goals are being met, services can be adjusted to 50 minutes, and eventually the frequency of sessions can decrease as well. In effort to provide competent care and be sensitive to your relational dynamic, the default duration for couples therapy at Serendipity Psychotherapy is 90 minutes.

Therapy for children through Serendipity Psychotherapy is approached as an integration between individual and family therapy. While the child is the client, close caregivers are always involved in treatment as both supports and participants. Services for children typically follow the standard therapeutic hour with brief parent check-ins at the beginning or end of the appointment. Parent sessions usually also default to the standard therapeutic hour as well. Family therapy can be a bit more involved with more people in the room. Much effort is put into connection, understanding, reflection, and skill building within family therapy, and this takes more time. To accommodate the intricacies of family dynamics, and to improve sensitivity to each family member, family session through Serendipity Psychotherapy are 90 minutes long.

If you are struggling with feeling supported, therapy may be a good place to start!
